Elastic Band instruments
Prepare a range of music instruments that YOU make, before the children come to the activity. The instruments should all me ‘home-made’ with different thickness of elastic/rubber bands around different things. See the examples below. The activity is then about the children ‘plucking’ and ‘strumming’ the different instruments and making different sounds with the different thickness and highness of the bans. You will need a large selection of different kinds of elastic bands for this activity.
WEEK 4 ACTIVITIES
Wrapping building blocks in foil
Click here for a description of the building blocks in foil
Printing with tins (Painting activity)
Making nature faces
Do not use glue. Just provide the children with a cut out of a face (different skin tones should be used), without any features. They can arrange the nature items (eaves, twigs, flowers, grass) to make different kinds of faces, realistic and abstract.
Stain Glass Windows
Using card or black paper, cut some shapes and the children stick tissue paper or cellophane colour paper behind it. The images and links below give you some ideas, but these are all way too complicated for the preschools, just use some simple and straihghtward shapes
