Rainbow Room Ground Rules

We want children (and staff) to have a great time in the Rainbow Room! But to enable this to happen it is important that there are clear boundaries and rules, which are consistently reinforced for children, and we need all staff who use this space with children to know and understand these rules, and remind the children of of these.

  1. Bimbas and ride-around-toys should be used only on the ‘Bimba’ area at the back, which is demarcated by the ‘road map’ PVC flooring. These toys should not be used on the grassed areas
  2. The Construction area should be used, with adult supervision and support.. and ONE type of block play should be used at a time. Blocks should be put away after use, and not left out on the floor. Blocks and construction toys used be used only on the YELLOW floored areas
  3. The balls should be in the ball pool and not thrown out of the ball pools. Staff need to encourage children to keep the balls inside the pool, and help them to pick up the balls if they come out. Please avoid games that include throwing the balls out of the pool. Any balls thrown out of the pool, should be picked up and put back in before any group leave. Children who continue to throw balls out, need to leave the pool, and then Rainbow Room if necessary.
