Drop off in the mornings between 7:30 and 8:30.
Please leave your buggies on the LEFT side of the building. The gate code is 2021# (this is a manual and not electronic code).
Rabbits children…, can proceed through the black gate, and knock on the classroom door. There is a shoe pocket on the wall, in which you can place your child’s shoes, and a set of hooks, where you can place your child’s belongings
For children in all other classes, please use the entrance on the RIGHT of the building!
Ducks – leave shoes in show pockets on the wall, and hang belongings on the pegs outside. Then knock on the classroom door (outside silver door) and the staff will open for you, and you say goodbye to your child at the door.
Caterpillars, Butterflies, Jaguars and Panthers – you are on the 1st floor, so enter through the door at the side of the building, which brings you in opposite the lifts and stairs. Then, take the stairs to the first floor; hang the belongings on your child’s peg, and take off your child’s shoes with them, and place these into the shoe units allocated to your class; then knock on the classroom door when your child is ready to enter.
Geckos, Toucans, Turtles and Whales – you are on the 3rd floor, so enter through the door at the side of the building, which brings you in opposite the lifts and stairs. Then, take the stairs to the first floor; hang the belongings on your child’s peg, and take off your child’s shoes with them, and place these into the shoe units allocated to your class; then knock on the classroom door when your child is ready to enter.
Arriving between 8:30 and 9am
At 8:30am the side gates are locked, so that the children can play in the garden from this time. Please enter through the main door at the front of the building (you can still leave your buggy in the buggy park, this code operates all the time).
The internal security doors are all open until 9am, so once inside, you can move around the building to access your child’s classroom. Ducks and Rabbits will use the internal doors at this time, on the ground floor. All other groups should go upstairs, to your floors as indicated above.
Please ensure you are out of the building by 9am!
Arriving after 9am
We ask you wherever possible to arrive before 9am to gan.
After 9am, all the internal security doors will be closed, and parents will not be able to access areas of the building. You will need to wait in the lobby, and call the unit. As soon as someone is available to come and collect your child; they will come down to the lobby. The older classes, are already engaged in activities at this time, and may also be in the garden etc, so please do expect to wait a while sometimes if you arrive after 9am!
General Guidance for dropping off:
Try to make drop offs, as quick as possible, and avoid hanging around outside your child’s classroom. The longer you stay, the more your child will expect and want you to stay; this is especially the case if they are finding the transition from being with you to coming into gan difficult and they are crying, the best thing you can do is let out staff support them to settle down, and make a swift exit!
We ask you to avoid going into the classrooms, and a reminder not to bring buggies, animals or vehicles into the building.
Bicycles
If you are arriving by bike, we ask you to lock your bike at the front of the building or
across the road on the bicycle racks. Between 7:30 and 8:30 and 4:00 and 4:30 bicycles may be left in one of the garden (against a wall) while you pick up your chid.
Pick-ups
Pickup for all classes is from 4:00 – 4:30
There is a complete blackout between 3:40 and 4:00… no one in and no one out!
Pick up earlier than 3:40…
For pick up before this time, please come into the lobby of the building and call the unit phone. One of the team will come down to the lobby with your child as soon as they can! If you are in the Rabbits or Ducks, you can knock on their internal door and they can bring your child out.
at 4:00 – 4:30…
We suggest to take your buggies and erect them before you take your child and leave it in the garden (so you can make a speedy getaway) if you have a child who isn’t yet walking comfortably.
Rabbits and Ducks… please go to the back door of the classrooms
All older classes… please enter the building via the backdoor (through the garden on the RIGHT of the building – gate code 2021#) and then go up via the stairs to the classroom. If there is no staff member already at the door, please knock, and your child will come to you! You can put shoes on, and please leave the building as quickly as possible. If you do not have a buggy, please leave via the front door… or through the garden if you have left a buggy there!
