Buggy Parking

We provide an area at the front of our building for parents to leave buggies they wish. However, any items left here are left at your own risk, and Rainbow does not take any responsibility for property left in this area. It is not secure, and it is not supervised or monitored against theft or damage, so its important that all parents understand this prior to leaving anything in the storage area.

The Buggy Parking area is behind the black gate, and before the entrance on the right and left in front of the building. The space in incredibly limited, and will only work if parents are considerate in their use of the parking area, and follow our guidelines. Where buggies are placed in the parking area and do not follow our guidelines, buggies may be removed, and left on the street.

Between 7:30 and 8:30 and 4:00 and 4:35 the gardens on both sides of the building are open, and parents can leave their buggies in these areas temporarily while you drop off or pick up your children. Buggies must then be folded, and taken to the storage area.

We do not allow any buggies inside of our building.

Buggies cannot be held temporarily in the square area between the black gate and front door. This obstructs the entrance and is dangerous. We ask you not to use this area to erect or collapse your buggy.

When using the buggy store, we ask you to follow these guidelines:
1. Fill from the BACK first. If put the buggies as far back as possible when you arrive, otherwise people have to climb across yours to get to the others

2. Buggies must be totally collapsed/folded if you wish to leave them. Please do not leave buggies ‘half folded’

3. Please stack buggies on the bamboo side of the parking area, leaving space along the wall beside the building to walk down

4. Please DO NOT leave food in your buggies. We have an increasing number of pests coming to sniff round the buggies… including rats. We will remove any buggies with food to stop this problem

5. Please make sure that grandparents or babysitters know what your buggy looks like and how to open it. You may wish to keep a photograph on your phone that you can send to people when they pick up your child. We don’t know your buggies and sometimes grandparents get quite upset with our staff when we can’t help!

6 Vehicles that do not collapse or fold, such as ‘peddle push bike/chairs’ cannot be left at Rainbow, as we do not have space

Buggies that do not follow these guidelines, will be removed, and left on the street for you to collect. This includes buggies left at the ‘front’ of the store area, where there is space at the back. We have had a lot of pressure from parents to be stricter about the use of this area.

Thank you for your consideration for other parents, and for abiding by these guidelines.

Examples:

Below is an example of how the buggies should not be left. Note, there is room beyond the tree on the bamboo side. By parents stacking the buggies on both sides, it prevents anyone getting past to put their buggies in. Also all these parents have started from the front and not the back.

Buggies need to be left left along the wall, and not in the walkway, and only along one side, so people can pass. We also ask you, if you knock someone else buggy over, please be considerate and pick it up!

This picture shows the buggy in the front, has not been folded properly, and placed right in the way, so no one can pass. This shows a huge lack of consideration to other parents and users of the storage area. Even leaving a buggy here temporarily completely prevents anyone else access.

Please follow the example below. You see that buggies have been placed neatly against the sides, filling from the back first, and leaving space to move up and down.
