Anonymous Disclosure Policy

It is the responsibility of all staff to make a report to management if the behaviour or conduct of another member of Rainbow staff concerns them in anyway.

Staff should speak directly to the manager or person in charge whenever something of concern is observed. Where staff do not feel comfortable approaching the manager or making a report in this way, The Anonymous Disclosure Form (ADF) may be used, when completing this form, staff have the option to include or exclude their own name from the report.

Staff have an obligation to report any behaviour that raises concern, including but not limited to the following examples:

  • Behaviour towards a child or children that is disrespectful
  • Physical contact or touching of a child in an aggressive manner
  • Sexual or inappropriate contact with a child
  • Rude or aggressive comments towards children, other staff or parents
  • Failing to maintain proper hygiene, for example not washing hands between nappy changes, not sanitising hands when entering rooms
  • Taking inappropriate pictures of children, for example nude, on personal phone
  • Leaving children alone or unsupervised properly
  • Steeling or theft from the gan or from a child; including removing gan food (eg fruits or laundry detergent)
  • Unauthorised access to the gan out of hours, or for any other purpose other than to work
  • Inappropriate topics of conversation with colleagues or parents
  • Giving parents personal phone number, email or social media links
  • Asking to borrow money, or other things that could cause others to feel uncomfortable
  • Babysitting or working for a Rainbow family
  • Falsely calling in sick to work
  • Breaking Rainbow rules
  • Sexual advances or comments towards another team member, colleague or parent
