The Rainbow English club is an alternative to ‘Tsaharon’. Its an English speaking programme
that supports children with speaking, listening and early reading and writing skills in
English. Its fun and play based, with a strong emphasis on social interaction. We work with the children only in English, in balance to the Hebrew that they will have during the mornings at the state nursery. The club is a great follow on for children who have already attended the Rainbow Nursery, but also suitable for children who have not. The English club is suitable for those new to English as well as native speakers, and everything in-between!
Our programme is 5 days per week only. We run from 2pm until 4:45 pm term time, and 8:00am – 4:45pm during holiday periods.
1,580 ILS per month
The price includes:
- Every afternoon during term time
- Full day during holiday periods (e.g. – passover, Chanukah etc)
- Half days (mornings) on Erev Chag (Festival Eve)
- Hot cooked meal every day
- Pick up from local gan irya (state nursery) or schools in the Lev Area
Our staff pick up the children from the state nurseries in the Lev area each day when they finish (usually at 2pm). When they arrive they have a hot cooked meal, made from fresh ingredence, following our Rainbow healthy eating policy (no fried food, no processed food, and no dairy, no salt, no sugar).
The children are mixed with the Kindergarten group, who are the same age but do not attend the state provision in the mornings. The children are in colour groups according to their age and level of English ability. For example the children in Kita Aleph have their own colour group. Activities and focused teaching activities happens in their small groups and is targeted to support each child’s next steps in speaking, listening and emergent reading and writing in English.
Children take part in a range of activities including stories, songs, art, music, role play, drama and puppets, we use the Jolly Phonics an
d Letters and Sounds programme to promote and phonological awareness. During the holiday days, we also go to the local parks with the children, and sometimes (with parental consent) visit museums, art galleries and other places of interest.
Following on from our early years programme; Rainbow Afternoons is based around the ideology of language immersion and the programme is staffed by native English speakers. Even children who are from Hebrew only families will benefit hugely and have lots of fun! Click here to read about some of the benefits of introducing your child to a second language at a young age!
This is NOT a babysitting service, this is a high quality early years provision, with strong educational and play based values and is staffed by professionals who understand about child development and early childhood education!
Day Camp (Keytana)
During all the holiday periods, when the state nursery/gan for school is closed – we operate our Day Camp English Club programme, which is from 8am until 4:45pm. A broader range of English based learning and fun activities are delivered across the full day. The day includes morning and afternoon snack (fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain bread and rice cracker) and a full cooked lunch. The Day Camp (excluding July and August, which is booked separately) is included in the monthly cost of the provision. 1,580 ILS per month (10 months of the year). July and August is charged at our usual Rainbow rates; which you can see here.
